LONG LIVE to Taylor Swift who is now allowed by ex-label Big Machine Records to perform her discography at the upcoming American Music Awards (AMAs)!
The issue started when the first-ever Billboard Woman Of The Decade posted a tweet stating that Big Machine execs Scooter Braun and Scott Borchetta prohibits her from singing old songs in television as that would be “re-recording” way before (next year) she’s allowed to.

Swifties (fans of Taylor Swift) were quick to react and rally about the situation. Cue the hashtag #IStandWithTaylor:
Taylor asked us to let Scott know how we felt…. so @TTWAKyle and I did!!
THANK YOU FOR HELPING US MAKE THIS POSSIBLE!! #IStandWithTaylor pic.twitter.com/Kpn4FkDwnE

If it wasn’t for Taylor Swift, I would have accepted multiple different deals that would have included someone taking ownership of my music for 7-10 years. Her voice is important. This isn’t about money or winning, she deserves to own her own music. #IStandWithTaylor pic.twitter.com/wELVv7x77L

Artists also voiced out their support on social media. One is pop singer Ke$ha, who had an unfortunate experience with a record label.
I stand in solidarity with @taylorswift13. Artists should be allowed the right to perform their songs as they wish. As a songwriter, songs are our children, our accomplishments, our thoughts, and our voice.

Iconic superstar Cher also joined in:
@taylorswift13 ….BABE,THIS SHIT HAS BEEN HAPPENING SINCE MILLION SELLING ARTISTS WERE PAID OFF WITH A CADILLAC & A BOTTLE OF
JACK‼️IM SORRY?SCOOTER ?

And of course, Selena Gomez who shares a 13-year old friendship with the Country Pop Princess became emotional on Instagram:
THE POWER!
According to a press release from Big Machine Records, “record label approval is only needed for contracted artists’ audio and visual recordings.”
However, the internet didn’t seem to be convinced by this clarification:
I THOUGHT BIG MACHINE NEVER TOLD TAYLOR THAT SHE COULDN'T PERFORM HER OLD STUFF???
Then why did they need to reach an agreement?
….because Taylor Swift didn't lie. Scooter Braun and Scott Borchetta did. https://t.co/Cu0PoAObaW

Hey so i can’t wait for Taylor Swift to scream “THE LIARS AND THE DIRTY DIRTY CHEATS” so loud at the AMAs that it rattles some certain men’s bones

A representative of Taylor Swift’s team then reveals that Borchetta ‘flatly denied the request for both American Music Awards and Netflix.’
